I’ve worked my whole career in the construction and property sectors, training as a Quantity Surveyor (IQS) before moving into Project Management (MAPM). I’ve worked for both construction firms (Osborne) as well as one of the Country’s leading residential development Company’s (Berkeley Homes Ltd).
In 2007 I decided to set up my own Business (CarbonSpring Ltd) with the specific purpose of delivering two major enabling schemes, one in Southeast London and the other in Sussex. A key component of those developments was the creation of over 600 new homes, including many leasehold apartments.
Throughout my career I’ve frequently been asked by family / friends / friends of friends to help out with a variety of questions relating to the purchase and ownership of leasehold property, and so in 2024 I decided to set up Explain My Lease, with the aim of:
- helping people buying a leasehold property to better understand the process and the key things to look out for
- helping those who already own a leasehold property with the many issues that arise from ongoing management and maintenance obligations
- offering personalised, online support at an affordable cost, which people feel comfortable using
- a service that is accessible to anyone in the UK, no matter their location
To compliment the qualifications gained earlier in my career, I’ve recently been awarded Level 3 Certificate in the Management of Property and Residential Lettings and am a Member of the National Residential Landlords Association.
